I want to give access to other users, and when I put the server online and put my IP to the browser its working. Where 203.0.113.111 is whatever your local IP address is (or whatever IP address you are accessing the site from). I have developed a site using WAMP and its working locally. I assume you are editing the main server config or relevant VirtualHost container. If the icon is red or orange, you have a conflict with another application. Once it is installed you will notice the green light on the wamp icon on your system tray. You can do this in a number of ways, depending on your specific config and Apache version. Simply download wamp server from /en/ and take the defaults. The video does not say to put the server online however.
However, you want to permit public access to index.php files located in subdirectories (projects?). I have downloaded WampServer but when I click on Localhost I get a Forbidden message that I do.
The button will automatically take you to the DOWNLOADS section where you’ll be greeted by two versions of the WAMP server namely, WAMP SERVER 64 BITS (X64) and WAMPSERVER 32 BITS (X86). Others can only access the index files found in the projects not the one on the root server.įrom your comments, it would seem you are referring to the physical file index.php residing in the document root of the site (as opposed to an auto generated directory index). On the web page, you’ll see the START USING WAMPSERVER button. What I want is to be only able to view it from local machine, not from others. Thats perfect for anyone whos just using their WAMP server for testing or development purposes, but to make your website accessible to the rest of the world, click on the WampServer icon and click Put Online Sharing a Local Dev Server with Your Clients Using MAMP.
The server's index file which shows the list of all the projects is also accessible.
